Transforming a professional services organisation with Dynamics 365 Business Central

Background

The customer is an employee-owned professional services organisation offering management consultancy services. They are based in London and have over 200 employees.

They specialise in working with large enterprises and providing a range of consulting services helping organisations improve their operations, business model and technology strategy.

Requirements

The customer is embarking on a programme which updates and unifies its core business systems and processes. Their focus was to implement an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution that will support the future growth of the organisation.

The Solution

The customer had selected Dynamics 365 but was unsure whether Dynamics 365 Business Central or Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations was the right solution for them. After a requirement gathering session with Incremental Group, they took our recommendation and implemented Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Dynamics 365 Business Central is a business application designed for SMEs. It is an ERP solution that has finance, operations, projects, sales and manufacturing capability. As Dynamics 365 Business Central is a flexible and scalable ERP solution, we identified their core requirements and the impact of their growth plans and concluded that this would be easily supported by Dynamics 365 Business Central. The customer was able to benefit from the quicker implementation and reduced costs of the smaller implementation for Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The Project

Incremental Group delivered the solution in 4 months, working alongside the customer to develop their process and configure the system. The customer decided to progress with Dynamics 365 Business Central focusing in phase 1 on the core finance module. They carried out a data migration to ensure all core financial, customer and supplier information was in the system. Incremental Group configured all of the core finance modules to meet their requirements including their account schedule, bank accounts, sales ledger, purchase ledger, fixed assets and workflows.

The project required to go live in October to meet the Making Tax Digital deadline. Future phases are planned to integrate with the existing Enterprise Management System.
