How do you qualify for the nonprofit discount?

To qualify, organisations must be a nonprofit or non-governmental organisation (NGO) with a recognised charitable status in their respective location. This covers most registered charities as well as a range of nonprofit and membership organisations. To be eligible, nonprofits need to have an organisational vision that Microsoft approve of and meet its non-discriminatory requirements.

The eligibility for each region of the UK differs slightly, depending on the registered charity commission:

  • England and Wales – those registered with the UK Charity Commission and/or registered with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as tax exempt
  • Scotland – those registered with Scottish Charity Regulator and/or registered with HMRC as tax exempt
  • Northern Ireland – those registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland (CCNI) and/or registered with HMRC as tax exempt.

The pricing above is based on a per user per month cost. Team members are limited to only view certain capabilities. For charities it is unlikely that you will need the manufacturing or service management capability of premium so we would recommend a mix or essential and team member licenses with your core finance team having full access using premium and your wider organisation having view only access as a team member.
