Dynamics 365 Business Central has built-in CRM capability, including the ability to create customer cards and raise quotes. The CRM capability isn’t designed to help you nurture leads and win more business, instead it allows you to manage your customers. For Business Central users looking for more CRM capability Dynamics 365 Sales is the answer.
Dynamics 365 Sales is Microsoft’s CRM Solution for your Sales team. It is a flexible, cloud-based solution and can be easily tailored to suit your organisation. It provides capability including lead tracking, sales workflows, reporting, opportunity management, and pipeline management.
Dynamics 365 Business Central connects directly with Dynamics 365 Sales providing you with the extra CRM capability you need. This allows you to synchronise data between the two systems and have a fully connected experience from lead generation to cash.
When Business Central is set up to integrate with Sales, you have access to Sales data from Business Central and the other way around in some cases. This integration enables you to work with and synchronise data types that are common to both services, such as customers, contacts, and sales information and keep the data up to date in both locations.
For example, A Dynamics 365 Sales user can use the price lists from Business Central when they create a sales order. When they add the item to the sales order, they are also able to see the inventory level (availability) of the item in Business Central.
Conversely users of Dynamics 365 Business Central can receive extra information from Dynamics 365 Sales. When you process orders in Business Central you can handle extra information you receive from sales orders automatically. Such as sales order line items or resources will appear in Business Central as written in to the product information.
The integration is available as standard for Business Central and Sales. It includes certain entities as standard but you are able to add more using the API services available. Business Central and Sales have a number of similar fields sometimes called entities, that contain the same information but are labelled differently in each solution.
