Microsoft last week announced that it is relaunching a new and improved solution for SMEs as part of the Dynamics 365 range called Dynamics 365 Business Central.  It will be available in the UK from the 2nd of April.

For SMEs and businesses with NAV or Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (business edition), this is positive news. The original business edition of D365 for Finance and Operations was lacking in some of the capability that NAV originally offered.  Microsoft has now remedied this and is offering a solution with enhanced capability. The working title for this project was ‘Tenerife’ and they have now released its official name.  Dynamics 365 Business Central will replace Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (business edition).

Dynamics 365 Business Central offers SME organisations a single, end to end solution for managing finances, operations, sales and customer service and an opportunity to easily upgrade from their entry-level accounting software or legacy ERP systems.

Business Central offers great value because it integrates with other Microsoft cloud services including Office 365 and can be customised or extended for specific industry needs with PowerApps, Microsoft Flow and Power BI.

Dynamics 365 Business Central is built on the same architecture as Dynamics NAV but is in the cloud. Using NAV as a base it will provide access to technology that is currently used by 160,000 organisations.

Business Central offers:

  • Business without silos. Unify your business, and boost efficiency with automated tasks and workflows—all integrated within familiar Office tools like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Actionable insights. Achieve greater outcomes and gain a complete view of your business with connected data, business analytics, and guidance delivered by Microsoft’s leading intelligent technologies.
  • Solutions built to evolve. Start quickly, grow at your own pace and adapt in real time with a flexible platform that makes it easy to extend Business Central based on your changing business needs.
